It takes one moment to change your future. It took JuneElise & Lester one group outing with their friends to change their life. JuneElise says, “Our friends ended up not showing and the night ended up being our first date!”
The road to dating lead to an engagement, which led to one of the most beautiful spots in the city at the Adler Planetarium. As the Sales Manager/Onsite Wedding Specialist at Sheraton Suites Chicago Elk Grove, JuneElise is familiar with locales to tie the knot. A day in the city with Lester and her brother, ended with a stop at the Planetarium where Lester got down on one knee with the skyline in the background. “It was meant to be to have our reception at the Adler,” JuneElise says.
Being an experienced pro, the couple’s planning went off without a hitch. Their greatest challenge throughout the process was dealing with the Friday Chicago traffic. “When you have the right vendors, the day itself will be incredible!” the bride says.
Lots of up lighting throughout the Adler Planetarium set the scene and tone for the big day. Soft amber lighting provided the illusion of the dance floor being lit up through hanging votives as stars in the sky. (uber romantic!) Chandeliers also hung above the head table, tied with candelabras while pin spotting lighting was added to the reception centerpieces. Read on to find out what the couple did in lieu of favors ~
~ Keeping with tradition ~
JuneElise & Lester tied the knot in a traditional Filipino ceremonial wedding consisting of the lighting of unity candle, placing of a veil and cord on the bride and groom and the Exchange of Coins. The rituals symbolize the joining of two lives, sharing of one rooftop, love of being bound together and groom’s promise to the bride to provide for their family.
~ “Can we take a selfie?” ~
The couple’s first moment of being Mr. and Mrs. was captured at the front of the altar. ~
~ Advice to other couple’s planning ~
Don’t get too hung up on the current wedding trend(s).
Follow your heart and let your wedding showcase who you and your husband to be really are. Don’t wait until last minute to start planning your wedding.
~ It’s 2016, after all ~
The couple also had a large TV at their reception displaying their wedding hash tag so guests could see photos from the night, a charging station and flip book company instead of photo booth for guests to watch their movement throughout the evening.
