Everyone wants a luxury destination wedding. One of the top spots to have them is in the Florida Keys. Key West offers many places for a luxury destination wedding, as do Marathon and Islamorada. The majority of my bookings are usually for Key West weddings, due to being a Key West wedding photographer. I try to shoot one luxury destination wedding a month, outside of Key West. It gives me a chance to work with other vendors, develop relationships with them and become a part of their community.
Heather and Keith were referred to me by a few friends, and it was a perfect match. We spent one afternoon shooting their engagement photos around Key West, and at Fort Zachary Taylor. It was a great way to get to know them, and to make everyone comfortable with each other for the wedding day. They are Key West locals, but decided to take their wedding out of Key West, picking Faro Blanco Resort & Marina as their destination.
Heather looked stunning in her dress. It was designed by Pronovias and featured a 120″ embroidered lace veil, with a 3 foot train. Her shoes were from Nine West. Her hair and makeup was on point due to the talents of Emily and Jessica of Bella Luxe Hair and Makeup of the Florida Keys. Keith was styled in a Calvin Klein suit with Cole Haan shoes.
Faro Blanco was a great setup. Waterfront, a lighthouse, and an atmosphere that was contained without any outside interruptions. It was a day full of close family and friends. You got to feel the love of the family dynamic, which I think translated well in the imagery. Faro Blanco falls within the luxury destination wedding niche and it shows. An amazing view of the sunset, soothing salt air, and lush tropicals around the property. We worked with a great group of vendors, and Heather’s design of the reception was exquisite.
