Every bride dreams of having the perfect wedding. No mishaps, punctuality from everyone involved, gorgeous weather (especially for an outdoor ceremony!). And Kellee and Jordan’s summertime nuptials in Chelan, Washington, were just that — perfect! After bride and bridesmaids got ready at a nearby hotel, they traveled down the road to Chelan wedding venue Karma Vineyards for some pre-wedding photos. Breaking tradition, Kellee had her four bridesmaids wear different color dresses, each of the soft shades working together in flawless harmony! Kellee beamed brighter than the sun as she clutched her pale bouquet and waited to share a first look with her groom, and Jordan’s expression of delight upon seeing her was priceless! Following some gorgeous outdoor shots of the couple about the vineyard, it was time for the ceremony to begin. The lovebirds were joined in marriage before sixty-five of their closest friends and family, after which all relished an outdoor meal seated before tables bedecked in white linens, fresh floral centerpieces, and burlap table runners. Then, in a twist of events, the party moved into the wine cave, where the cake was cut and dancing enjoyed amidst the glow of a candlelit atmosphere! Take in the beauty of this perfectly lovely affair with these photos by Seattle wedding photographer Clane Gessel!
How did the day begin?
Our hotel was only a few miles down the road from Karma, and we had a perfect easy morning. The guys got ready on one end of the property and my girls and I were on the other. We took our time and when we finally got to Karma the air had that perfect soft feeling and I knew this was going to be the best day of my life! And it was!
My cousin is actually the owner of I Do Bridal in Greenlake, WA and she amazingly gifted me my gown! I went to her shop first thing when we got engaged and wasn’t expecting to find THE dress on my first stop, but I tried it on and just knew it was the one. A few days later – she surprised me with the dress of my dreams!
How did you meet?
Though mutual friends – we were set up on a blind date and didn’t leave each other’s sides after that!
How did he propose?
Jordan took me to Vancouver 2 days after his birthday to see a Canucks game – he had been gifted tickets for his b’day. At the last minute he told me to get dressed up and we were going to get dinner first. I thought this was a little odd because we were supposed to just be going to a game. We walked into the French restaurant The Brix – and it was empty. Just us! At dessert he brought out a bottle of champagne and got down on one knee. It was perfect!
What was the best wedding advice you received?
Don’t worry about the little things and take it all in as much as possible. Breathe and slow down!
Was there a specific theme or style? What inspired it?
Country Elegance. We used mason jars with pearls and flowers as our centerpieces. I wanted it to feel a little bit vintage- so we used all natural elements like the pearls and wood accents for our reception. We kept the colors very light and airy so it felt elegant and effortless.
What playful twists made your event unique?
After dinner we moved the party into the wine cave for our cake cutting and dancing. We had lots of candles lit and it was a really cool atmosphere inside the cave!
