Today’s real wedding feature takes us to the Alpharetta Athletic Club in Alpharetta, GA, a gorgeous lodge-like wedding venue with plenty of indoor and outdoor wedding space. For Celina and Nathan, it was the perfect place for their recent August nuptials. August 7, 2010 to be exact. The ink had barely dried on their marriage license when I saw this wedding run across Atlanta based wedding photographer Alecia Lauren Photography‘s website and scooped the images up to share with you today. My favorite element from the wedding are the white and silver bridesmaid dresses. They are a modern short gown style that can totally be worn again. The color combo is a hip derivative of the popular antique tones color palette and the white hydrangea and rose bouquets were a perfect floral match.
Celina and Nathan are both graduates of Atlanta’s Southern Polytechnic State University. The couple studied architecture, so when it came time for a marriage proposal, flying to New York City to admire the big apple’s jungle of city architecture together, was just the perfect way to pop the question….. a top Rockefeller Center to boot. She said yes and the rest of their wedding story plays out in the images below.
Celina’s must have element was her dress. She visited some of the discount bridal salons around town but nothing screamed for her attention, so she headed on over to Bridals by Lori (eh hem… Atlanta’s home to Say Yes to the Dress) and fell in the love with the dress of her dreams… after trying on about 20 different styles. 😉
Celina actually handled a lot of her floral decor herself. Although, she knew when to bring a professional in when necessary. Perfect Petals created the bridal party’s bouquets, and after that, Celina opted for a do-it-yourself approach and used white orchids and green hydrangeas (her favorite) through out the day. Her aisle decor consisted of glass cylinders filled with water with a single stem of white orchids and indoors she used short glass cylinders with mixed bouquets of roses and hydrangeas as well.
Celina’s advice when wedding planning… “To keep your communication going. We are pretty good at it, but to never let that go.” And she doesn’t just mean between you and your groom. Good communication with your wedding vendors, helps assure you get what you expected on your wedding day. Great advice!
