This past weekend I went to West Palm Beach for my cousin Kimberly’s Bridal Shower. It took her forever to decide on the colors for her wedding, but when it came time for her Matron-of-honor to plan her bridal shower she immediately said “I want it to be peacock themed.” Go figure.
So, Interior Designer and life long best friend, Krystin Vidal, coordinated all the cute purple and teal details for this peacock theme party and I, the trusty cousin and eager bridesmaid, photographed the party to share with you today.
The party was hosted at my mom’s house and to make clean up quick she opted for faux china on silver chargers. Perfect for a bridal shower or any kind of casual, at home entertaining. Krystin rented teal and purple table linens from Panache Rentals and incorporated actual peacock feathers….wherever we could find places to stick them. There were lots!
For lunch, guest were seated at three large tables in the dinning room, the breakfast nook and in the patio. Three courses were served: a salad, heart shaped sandwiches (very cute) and gelato desserts. With each course a bell would ring and Kimberly (the bride) and her Mother and soon-to-be Mother-in-law would switch tables so they had a chance to sit and chat with each guest. It was a very cute way of making sure everyone felt involved in the conversation with the guest of honor.
Tacky bridal shower games were kept to a minimum, thank goodness. However, one of the cutest games was bridal shower bingo where guests had to guess what gifts they thought Kimberly would receive later at the shower and as she opened her gifts they would mark off the boxes they guessed correctly. If you guessed correctly enough, you ended up with a complete line and BINGO! This game made watching the guest of honor open her presents less “oohhh and ahhh” and way more fun and engaging.
