As we sit with our office doors open, that spring sunshine pouring in, it feels so right to be sharing this sunny Florida wedding shower with you. This is sort of a double feature, since we’ll be sharing Jenna and Justin’s wedding with you in the very near future! Jenna’s shower was full on glamour — a Chanel themed lunch complete with pearls and a playful take on the iconic logo. Take a look! (Photos via Moreland Photography)
Justin and I first met back in August 2005, through a group of mutual friends at his fraternity house, when we were both students at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Although there was a mutual attraction, little did I know that he would be the man I would marry!
The next morning after meeting Justin, I received a Facebook message and friend request from Justin, giving me his number, and suggesting that we go out for dinner sometime soon! We ended up dating throughout the 4 years we attended UCF, and then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, where we moved into our first home together with our little dog, Bailey. The rest is history 🙂
Now for the proposal! Knowing that we were going to marry each other, it was more a question of when exactly Justin was going to propose (after almost 6 years of dating). We had talked about getting engaged, but I had no idea when he was planning on popping the question. On December 16th, 2010, we went out for a romantic dinner at our favorite restaurant down on the beach. I had a feeling that this would be the night, and that tonight would be the perfect time to propose, but as we finished off dinner and then paid the check, I figured that tonight was not going to be my lucky night!
(Continued) We ordered a movie when we got home, and in the middle of the movie, Justin reached down into the couch and produced a wooden box, with the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen. I could not believe my eyes and thought that I must have been dreaming!
(Continued) He told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him, and of course, with tears in my eyes, I said YES!! We ran down the hallway to our friend’s apartment since we couldn’t wait to share the news with them. We celebrated with champagne as we proceeded to call our parents and friends.
What were the honeymoon plans? We decided to go on a short getaway at The Breakers Hotel in West Palm Beach for a few nights, which was gorgeous and gave us some much needed relaxation after our wedding festivities. We will be heading to the Turks and Caicos in May for our real honeymoon, which gives us a nice vacation to look forward to!
