For budding fashion designer Ruthie Nathan, the theme for her February Bat Mitzvah couldn’t have been more obvious: Project Runway, of course! With the help of event design company Tulip, Ruthie and her mom, Michelle Nathan, planned a creative, fashion-forward event called “Ruthie’s Project Runway,” held at the Ballroom at TWELVE. Feathered boas, handbags, dressmaker dummies, oversized buttons and spools of thread, shoes and sketched designs transformed the ballroom into a scene right out of the popular Bravo TV show, while delicious fare from Added Touch Catering gave guests an opportunity to dine and design. “My daughter loves design and fashion,” said Michelle Nathan. “She is always styling her own clothes and has her own workroom, so I wanted to play off that theme for her Bat Mitzvah party. She wanted a beautiful, colorful, fun party and the theme and decor from Tulip made her dream come true!” To keep them inspired long after the party ended, guests took home black t-shirts from Atlanta T-Shirt Factory emblazoned with the fearless saying “Make it Work!” Images by Chuck Robertson!
