Describe your design aesthetic.
For me it is all about reading the bride. I want to just listen until I start putting all of her thoughts together. That’s when I surprise her with pictures and ideas of just what her vision was. This takes years of being in the industry.
Where do you find inspiration?
Believe it or not, I find inspiration at The AmericasMart, industry web sites, trips I take out of town or out of the country, conversations with people smarter than me.
Who do you follow/who inspires you?
I have a wonderful mentor who pushes me to my limits and then some. They are my life coach and someone I look up to with much respect. It’s always a challenge to push yourself, but at the end of the day, it gets you to where you need to be.
How did you get started in the business?
I was privileged to go to one of the best art schools in the country and work in many medias. I then moved to Miami where I worked in the private clubs creating and setting up private parties. After a few years I knew enough to become a troubleshooter with MACs.
Do you have a work mantra?
People may not remember what you did or said but how they made you feel.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Failure is not the opposite of success but instead a stepping stone.
What are your goals for 2015?
To work more within the ethnic bridal communities creating new ideas.
Take time off to enjoy life.
Manage my time even better and give back.
