Today’s real wedding has all of the lovey dovey romantic cliches we self confessedly swoon for. Let’s see, breezy beach wedding — check, horse and buggy- check, princess dress -check, sweeping Spanish moss–check….you get this picture. Will and Natalie’s big day was most definitely a fairy tale come true. We’re so thrilled that both they and Atlanta wedding photographer Sarah Esther Photography have been gracious enough to let us share it with you. Take a look!
Was there a specific theme or style? The wedding had a natural beach theme. This was a late Spring wedding and the colors reflected that of the time of year; yellow, pink, and green. The wedding had a modern and traditional twist.
What inspired the theme or style? Will and I are a very outgoing couple. We love being with our family and friends, but most of all he loves going to the beach each year with his family on Saint Simons Island. For the past few years I had also vacationed with the family and it was an easy decision to get married on the island.
What were your playful twists that made the event unique? Horse and carriage rides for the guest and having a candy boutique for the guests.
Did you DIY any of the details? I picked the flowers for the wedding, and since tulips were my favorite it was the perfect season for that to happen. We picked the wedding venue after searching for the perfect place for a few months.
What was the most memorable moment? The most memorable of the day was when Will and I rode off after the ceremony on our horse and carriage. This was a magic touch and it allowed Will and I to reflect on the most perfect day of our lives.
Tell us how you met: Will and I started dating in August of 2002. We met in church when we were very little and reunited when I was the age of fourteen and he the age of fifteen. We had a few months on and off in the ten years, but as they say “Love Never Fails”. On August 27, 2011 he proposed.
Now for the proposal! Will and I had decided to go for a run, which was not a rare occasion. We have a park that was located near our houses in which we decided to go run. We rarely run together considering his pace and mine and after watching him form afar I noticed he had stopped, and I thought he was ready to stop considering the 102 degree weather. I met him on the field where he was walking and he said,”Natalie you know I love you very much……. Will you marry me?” After crying for nearly two minutes I finally said, “YES”.
Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore: My wedding gown was a full strapless A-line dress that touched the ground. I was barefoot along with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The bridesmaids wore a natural tan one- shoulder dress that hung to the knees.
What were the honeymoon plans? The honeymoon was a surprise for myself. I did not know until we got onto the plane that we were heading to Negril, Jamaica. BEAUTIFUL!
