This gorgeous styled shoot submitted to us by Being Joy Photography at Chez is one of a kind. From the yummy sweets created by Sweet Soirees to the beautiful florals by Anemone Creative and stunning calligraphy provided by Paper Love Club, planner + designer Sparkles and Lace Events, went above and beyond.
Inspired by the Sugar Plum Fairy dance from The Nutcracker, Alea Stanley, owner of Sparkle and Lace Events and Joy Bijedic, of Being Joy Photography both wanted to stay away from the traditional wedding colors. “We selected a blush pink and soft blue as a starting point and soon pulled in a light grey to the mix,” Joy says.
The duo fell in love with the simplicity and elegance that Chez, located in Downtown Chicago, offered. Alyssa Doorhy, of CoChic Styling, was soon pulled in to style the models. The wedding gown designed by Hayley Paige, inspired by the ballet, was romantic and refined complimented by a Badgley Mischka ballet flat.
Beautiful jewelry from James Ciccotti added a touch of sparkle. Complimented by a soft updo by Bridal Hair Stylist and classic makeup by Bianca Sansosti Artistry that completed the look. The bridesmaids floor length gowns in shades of soft grey and blue (supplied by Brideside). The navy, velvet jacket from Black Tie Formalwear, worn by the groom, brought a touch of sophistication paired with a softer gray suit for the groomsmen that complimented the bridesmaids.
The floral designed by Anemone Creative, was soft and subtle with blush pinks, white and blue green leaves. The anemones mirrored the grooms with an unexpected pop of navy in the center. The white branched arch was both enchanting and whimsical with subtle pops of greenery and floral. Joy says, “We choose to keep the design of the table simple with elegant tapper candles in shiny silver holders.”
Amazing Edibles Catering created a beautiful three course meal to display that complimented the winter theme. Anything inspired by the Sugar Plum Fairy also needs an amazing sweets table so Sweet Soirees created masterpieces almost too good to eat. Each dessert had an elegance to it with a bit of sparkle that mimicked a softly falling snow.
For the “after party” portion of the shoot Spin-Spun provided glow-in-the-dark cotton candy that is sure to be the hit of any party and Paper Love Club designed a beautiful invitation suite of various blue-grays tied with a pink ribbon (just like you were lacing up point shoe). Be inspired!
