Wait until you hear Erin + Corey’s adorable wedding story — it’s like something you hear in the movies!
Erin and Corey met in the fall of 2007 while attending The University of Iowa. Erin was enjoying herself on the dance floor when an uninvited gentleman tried joining her for a dance. A wave of panic immediately came over Erin as her would-be dance partner came in for the kill.
As luck would have it, at that very same moment, Corey was walking across that same dance floor. Erin saw her opportunity for salvation and immediately grabbed Corey’s arm. Corey, taken by surprise, looked down to find a short little freshman attached to his arm. Without even introducing herself, Erin introduced Corey as her boyfriend to escape her impending doom.
With Corey’s interest piqued, he decided to play along with the charade just so he could learn more about this intriguing girl. That was the first day of the rest of his life.
A few years later, Corey proposed to Erin on a rainy day at one of their favorite spots in Chicago. The Kinzie Street Bridge was one of the first places they fell in love with when they moved in together – and Corey knew it was the perfect backdrop to start the rest of their lives together.
The bride and groom said their vows at Holy Family Church and celebrated with friends and family at Ovation Chicago. The couple went with low-key lighting that included lots of candles, string lights and a light-up sign with their initials to help set the mood.
Lindsay Green Weddings & Events planned the entire event. Steve’s Flower Market added just the right touch with a variety of bouquets for the bride + her bridesmaids and soft greenery to match the candlelight lighting at the reception. Guests munched on a romantic cake from Jewell Events Catering and pie from Hoosier Mama Pie Company.
Jenny looked beautiful in her strapless Jenny Yoo gown with her hair by Laura Logan swept to the side and make-up by Alicia Salemi Brooks. Bridesmaids wore different styles of red strapless dresses to match their personalities by Bella Bridesmaids, while the groom wore a tuxe from Jos A. Bank.
The love that Erin + Corey have for each other is obvious throughout each one of their wedding photos sent to us by Jill Tiongco Photography.
