Amanda walked down the aisle of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, the words of love she and Justin had exchanged between closed doors only moments before fresh in her mind. The traditional ceremony was everything they had wanted, the perfect mixture of exquisite detail, effortless romance. The bride wore a silk, drop-waist Lazaro dress with a pearl-encrusted ribbon at her waist. Justin’s initials were stitched into the inside of her skirt, an extra-special detail Amanda hadn’t been able to go without. Her bridesmaids wore evening dresses of soft grey chiffon that complimented the groomsmen’s tuxedos to perfection. And once the ceremony was complete, Amanda and Justin officially declared man and wife, their family and friends welcomed them outside the church with cheering and celebratory bubbles. The reception at Orlando wedding venue the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek commenced with flare as the bride and groom joined their guests for a cocktail hour before kicking off the party with a formal introduction of the newlyweds, the first dance and toasts. A sit down meal of gourmet cuisine waited for the guests, followed by a four-tier wedding cake and a decorative candy station. Images by Victoria Angela Photography!
Now for the proposal…details!
We got engaged in the Cape Florida Lighthouse at the Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne, Florida just off the coast of Miami overlooking the Biscayne Bay. Justin received great help from my boss and the Park Rangers at Bill Baggs to make the day a success. Justin asked the law firm where I work to create a fake file involving the Lighthouse. On the day I went to the Bill Baggs State Park to investigate the case, I found Justin waiting at the top of the Lighthouse. I finally figured out that I had been tricked when Justin got down on one knee and proposed.
Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore.
I wore a Lazaro dress with a silk drop waist and satinized organza skirt with a silver-grey ribbon adorned with pearl beadwork around my waist. The dress was strapless and had gorgeous buttons going down the back. Underneath the bottom layer of fabric, I had my seamstress sew Justin’s initials into the dress for a sentimental touch. I wore Badgley Mischka shoes that had a subtle peach glow to tie into the wedding colors. The bridesmaids wore floor-length evening dresses in soft silver-grey chiffon. Justin and the groomsmen wore classic tuxedos with black bow-ties that were given to them by Justin.
What was the most memorable moment?
Standing before our family and friends and saying our vows was the most amazing experience. It was surreal, fantastic, and emotional. It was the most memorable moment of the day and the most important moment of the day.
Was there a specific theme or style?
We mixed Italian traditions with old Southern charm to incorporate elements of both families’s heritages. The color palette was romantic and timeless in silvers tones with subtle splashes of peach.
Tell us about the wedding cake.
The wedding cake included four tiers made up of carrot cake with cream cheese filling, chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse, and amaretto with amaretto cream filling. There was also a candy bar with a variety of treats colored in a variety of hues from the wedding’s theme colors and an assortment of chocolates.
What was the best wedding advice you received? We received so many pieces of fantastic wedding advice. The most important advice is to never forget what the day is really about: becoming husband and wife. Planning the party is fun and crazy and exhausting and worth it, but you should not lose sight of what it is all for. We made sure to share moments throughout the day where we just focused on each other.
