Though friends throughout middle school and high school, Leah and Brolin each went their separate ways for college, going years without speaking. Then one day, out of the blue, Leah received a Facebook message from her old classmate, and the couple’s love story began! The two dated for only six months when Brolin proposed to Leah beside a beautiful fountain in downtown Rome, Georgia, and the pair immediately making plans for a spring wedding at Berry College. The big day surprised them with rainy weather, but the cloudy sky and gorgeous college grounds provided a dreamy backdrop for the outdoor wedding photos. The striking yet elegant color combination of black and hot pink was seen throughout the celebration, from the classy attire of the wedding party to the cake covered in pink roses and lacy black icing detail! Following the reception at Forrest Place, the newlyweds excitedly hopped into their vintage getaway car and waved farewell to their guests as they began their honeymoon journey to the Dominican Republic. This sweet and stylish affair is brought to you by Libelle Photography LLC, a wedding photographer in Atlanta, Georgia!
Tell us how you met. Was it love at first sight, blind date, friends forever?
We were friends throughout middle and high school, and he tried to “guide” my dating options and affectionately referred to me as “Alien Hair.” Little did I know that I had found my soul mate so early. We lost touch after high school and went on to college. Then after 10 years, Brolin decided to Facebook message the girl from high school to meet up for dinner. I wasn’t sure exactly why he had chosen to contact me, but after deciding to meet him and making him wait a week for a response, I met my friend from high school who would eventually become my husband. We began out courtship soon after and I truly believe God ordained our relationship. Never had I felt more loved and cherished. We dated only for 6 months before getting engaged. Throughout our relationship we have chosen to honor God in all that we do. We believe that He has blessed us with one another and only through his will could this fairy tale romance exist.
Was there a specific theme or style? What inspired it?
Yes, black and hot pink were my favorite colors, and I wanted to use these colors as the main theme. My wedding dress was by Lazaro. It was a strapless ivory gown with a dropped waist. The waist had a jeweled belt that had a medieval theme. I had a cathedral length veil to complement the dress. My bridesmaids wore a knee length one shoulder black satin dress from David’s Bridal. The shoulder had a bow as a detail. The shoes were hot pink heels with the same bow detail.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment was the reading of our vows to each other. We both had such personal and meaningful words to say to one another.
The rain. It rained on our day, but it turned out that the weather created a beautiful backdrop for our pictures.
Tell us about the food and desserts.
The food was appetizers. We had a strawberry salad, chicken salad croissants, pork and potatoes, and a shrimp and cucumber appetizer for the main course. For dessert we had the wedding cake which was a pound cake with almond buttercream filling with buttercream icing. The groom’s cake was a combination of strawberry and carrot cake. The desserts were amazing!
