The March wedding of Amanda and Brian was a traditional, elegant affair, with romantic tones of pastels and ivories, whites and silvers and gold vintage flair. The affair took place at Fort Myers wedding venue The Club at Grandezza, with a breathtaking ceremony in front of a sparkling fountain and surrounding gardens. The string quartet Seaside Strings played softly as the bride walked down the aisle to her groom. She wore a strapless ivory gown with a corset back by Allure. Her two treasured bridesmaids and maid of honor wore long, flowing gowns in shades of soft pink and carnation grey, while the groom and his groomsmen all sported black tuxedos and complementary ties. A cocktail hour, complete with music accompaniment, followed on the veranda, before a reception indoors where guests enjoyed delicious gourmet fare and a chic white wedding cake adorned with elegant bows by Mikkelsen’s Pastry Shop. Irresistible entertainment from The Jac of All Trades had the whole room dancing long into the evening — an unforgettable night from beginning to end. Please give us an overview of the event.
Amanda came to me wanting a soft and romantic wedding with touches of vintage and a little rustic-ness. Her colors were soft pink, lavendar, neutral tones and touches of metallic gold and silver. The grand arch in the port cochere framed the ceremony beautifully. Multiple chandeliers hung over the couple as they said their vows. As the bride and groom recessed, the guests tossed pink and white confetti. It was magical! The reception space had a serious wow factor with all the candle light and beautiful details. The flowers were soft shades of ivory, pink and lavender. The “low” tables had three arrangements, with a very full floral look. The “high” tables had a gorgeous silver candelabra with similar theme flowers, and cascading pearls and hanging amaranthus.
What challenges, if any, were presented to you while planning and executing the event?
I came in somewhat late in the game. Amanda unfortunately had a bad experience with another planner, so I was hired closer to the wedding than usual. However, I couldn’t have been more grateful to have been a part of such an amazing couple’s day. Amanda is one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever had. I adore her more than she’ll ever know!
Tell us a highlight about the collaboration of the vendor team.
The team was just amazing! From Island Events creating the perfect archway, and Libby’s flowers getting it spot on with the florals, to Hunter Ryan and Voila capturing it so perfectly, this was truly a dream team! Everyone really understood the bride’s vision and came together to make the dream become a reality.
Were there specific details the couple requested to include in the event?
A few of the things I recall the bride wanting to incorporate were pearls, the vintage keys for the escort card display and broaches for her bouquet. We incorporated the pearls in quite a few places. The ceremony arrangements, including the two statement pieces, arch sprays, and cylinders that lined the aisle all had strands of pearls accenting them. The escort card display, which included her vintage keys on top of wine crates, had strands of pearls strung about, softening the more rustic looking wine crates and keys. Lastly, the candelabras had pearls draped on them in addition to the hanging amaranthus. For the brides bouquet, initially we were thinking vintage broaches, but I ended up finding a bunch of gorgeous crystal ones that just felt right. The outcome was amazing!
Tell us about the food and desserts.
It was really fun to repurpose the gorgeous escort card display for the dessert buffet. There was a combination of various mini desserts, and the guests loved them all! Towards the end, I started boxing them up for guests to take to-go. They were loving it!
Tell us about the entertainment.
Before Amanda hired me, they had found Jack of Trades for entertainment. I have to admit, I was skeptical about a DJ that also sings. However, I was throughly impressed by how awesome he was. The live vocals brought the music to a different level. He was definitely a hit, and kept the dance floor full all night long!
