Dahlonega, Georgia Wedding at Frogtown Cellars by Melissa Prosser Photography
Sarah and Christopher experienced their dream wedding at Dahlonega wedding venue Frogtown Cellars on a stunningly clear day in May. Each detail was selected with enhancing the natural beauty of the scenery, every guest an individual held dear by the bride and groom, making for the most intimate of events. The ceremony took place in the midst of the vineyard, a clear blue sky overhead that complimented Sarah’s bridesmaids’ gowns to perfection. The reception
commenced with gourmet meals prepared by Frogtown Cellars, from fried brie and coconut shrimp to steaks and salmon, capped off with chocolate covered strawberries and, of course, wedding cake. A live band provided entertainment from the ceremony to dance floor, and the newlyweds enjoyed every last moment. Tell us how you met. Was it love at first sight, blind date, friends forever?
Chris and I met at a bar as unbelievable as that sounds. You actually can meet a great guy in a bar! We both were actually taking friends out who were recently coming off of a bad breakup and trying to cheer them up. We met early in the evening exchanged numbers later that night, and the rest is history. Seven years later we are happily married.
Now for the proposal…details!
Chris proposed to me on Anna Maria Island in Florida on July 11th, 2010. We were going for a walk on the beach and sat down to watch the sunset. He proposed right there after four and a half years of dating. My parents were close by videoing the entire proposal. I was completely shocked! The beautiful part was that he included my parents in the entire process. From asking my father for permission to including my mom in the design of the band and picking out the diamonds. Chris custom made my ring which made it even more special to me!
Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore.
My gown was designed by Alfred Angelo. It was a fit and flare dress with a sweetheart neckline. It had rouching all the way down the center and beading and then went out into petal type waves and layers. It was a very light and very comfortable gown. I also wore a long cathedral length veil. My shoes were a dark blue pair by Madgley. The guys wore khaki suits with dark blue ties and white vests. My girls wore beautiful, long, one shoulder navy gowns by Bill Levkoff with peacock feathers in their hair.
Please give us an overview of the event.
We had our dream wedding at Frogtown Cellars in Dahlonega. We wanted a wedding that was laid back at a beautiful location in the North Georgia Mountains. The scenery was gorgeous and the day was perfect. From the walk down the aisle in the middle of the vineyard to dancing the night away on the porches and decks overlooking the winery.
Was there a specific theme or style?
Our vineyard wedding was inspired by the rustic winery.
What kind of energy did your entertainment give the event?
Our entertainment was great. We had a wonderful band that played during our ceremony with guitar solos to a full blown stage for the dancing during the reception. They kept the crowd going and energized and played a variety of music choices that kept our dance floor packed.
If there was one thing you could change, what would it be?
It would have been to eat! We were all so preoccupied with our event we did not even get to eat our wonderful food!
