Classic + Chic Hubbard Inn Chicago Wedding
Sammy + Michael’s Hubbard Inn wedding photographed by Elizabeth Nord Photography is filled with oh so much love!
From the moment the couple met, Michael felt a connection. “From day one, we allowed our relationship to grow and it couldn’t have felt more natural,” he said. Three years later, Michael proposed on a rooftop terrace in Spain with two lovely letters ~
“I gave Sammy the first of two letters expressing my excitement for another trip together. At the close of the letter, I wrote “PS. I Love You” (similar to the letters in one of Sammy’s favorite movies). Once we arrived in Barcelona the next evening, we walked through Ciutadella Park and then headed to a rooftop terrace near our rented apartment. I gave Sammy the second letter (about our life together and how special she is to me). At the close of this letter, I wrote “PS I Love You and….Sammy said “And what?” At that point, I dropped to one knee and said “And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
With lots of experience dealing with brides as the Senior Sales Manager at ZED451, Sammy used her expertise to plan her own wedding, choosing Hubbard Inn for the “festive and social atmosphere that encouraged unforced interaction between our family and friends.”
During the ceremony love overfilled the room as every detail came together. Sammy + Michael hand wrote their vows, gave flowers to their parents and had a wine ceremony that merged red and white wine into one glass. At the reception, couples treated friends and family to a popcorn bar, cake and sweets table from Sweet Mandy B’s.
Sammy looked absolutely beautiful in her lace gown by Weddings 826 with hair and makeup provided by GLAMD and Pin Me Up Chicago. Michael and his groomsmen were ever the dapper in blue from J. Toor while bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses from Brideside.
Bliss By Sam coordinated the entire event. Artistic Blooms Chicago provided beautiful flowers for the big day, Sweet Mandy B’s created the cake and sweets table, along with a classic invitation suite from Paper Source, it was truly an event guests will remember.
~ Flowers, flowers everywhere ~
Rose gold votives and vases were used throughout
the décor as the couple’s florist used a variety of unique flowers including quick
sand, jade and ivory spray roses, peonies, lotus pods, hanging amaranthus,
green hydrangeas, succulents and more.
~ Guests get comfy ~
Family and friends helped make their day much more
special by hanging string lights above the dance floor, making hand-lettered
signs, creating a guest book and flip flop station. A close relative also made a
wooden wagon that their 9-month old niece used to ride into the ceremony.~ Michael + Sammy’s advice to other couples ~
Make every part of the process a celebration.
