This shoot surprises us from one scene to the next! Sent to us by floral designer and stylist, Joanna McColgan of MC & Co Events, the inspiration for this gorgeous styled shoot came from the rich colors and textures of gemstones. From the glossy wood furniture brought in to The Haight, the bright wild ferns, peacock feathers, gorgeous food display, colored vintage glass and brass pieces and artisan macrame touches, color and texture are layered in a way that is mesmerizing.
Gemstone shades are represented throughout the Aquamarine and Citrine Dream theme. Bold pops of color bring this to life in the fresh figs and olives, glassware on the honey colored bar cart, brushstrokes on the custom watercolor paper items by Joanna Goss, and all throughout the floral elements.
Perfect for the hipster modern couple, this shoot gives the bride and groom the chance to strut that patterned shirt dress, strappy caramel colored leather heels, and bold vintage jewelry pieces. For him, a slim-tailored suit, bold button-down, and hip bow tie. Thick rimmed glasses optional.
To pull off an event like this, include local, fresh farm to table menu items, lots of colored glass, bold floral, small batch liquor and craft beer, never seen before custom macrame bouquet wrap (like the kind from Ket Mercantile) and tons of candlelight. An incredible venue like The Haight in a huge plus.
This look transcends seasonality. Mc & Co Events says, “Although we styled this shoot indoors, moving the ceremony outside under flickering bistro lights with live music is the perfect option for a summer night.”
Take this shoot up a notch with a live band, outdoor ceremony, bistro lights, signature cocktail and extend the floral looks to complete tablescapes including brass elements and air plants.
