From the old-world charm of Ybor City to the pristine white sands of Fort De Soto County Park, you’ll find several Tampa wedding photography venues that are perfect for engagement photo sessions or capturing post-wedding moments with style. Tampa is blessed with several historic buildings and gorgeous white sands. It’s one of Florida’s prime sunset-viewing destinations, and you might find that many Tampa wedding photographers are eager to book a sunset session just to capture the beautiful sunset along the coast.
Fort De Soto County Park is about an hour from downtown Tampa and encompasses more than 1,100 acres of land and water. It’s made of five interconnected islands and is the perfect spot for capturing shots with wildlife, palm hammocks, mangroves, and native plants during your photo session. Loggerhead sea turtles make their way to the shores of this park during nesting season which runs between April and September. You’ll find plenty of photo opps along the three miles of white sandy beaches, along the seven miles of paved trails, and around the historic fort. These photos from Pinellas County, TampaAttractions.com, and BeachHunter.net capture some of the white sandy beaches and scenic sites of the region.
Ybor City is the famous Latin Quarter in Tampa and you’ll find a few Tampa wedding photography hotspots around La Setima, the main street that runs through the Historic District, and around the red brick buildings in the city that are now National Historic Landmark Districts.
This is one of the most culturally-rich destinations in Florida and boasts plenty of old-world charm. Explore the Mediterranean village and walk along the old brick streets for a taste of Latin culture. The Don Vicente de Ybor Historic Inn is a restored boutique hotel filled with antique furnishings and historic treasures. I love the vintage feel of this hotel and the antique decor that’s perfect for a backdrop. These photos from TampaGov.net and Planetware.com might provide some inspiration for a photoshoot. For something a little different, consider the Tampa Union Station as a backdrop for any of your Tampa wedding photography sessions. The train station is more than 100 years old and is located in Downtown Tampa on the edge of Ybor City. I think the steps in front of the station building, the lamp posts and clock tower around the venue, and the palm-tree lined sidewalks around the building would be very well-suited for wedding photos in Tampa. This view of the station from Wikimedia Commons provides a closer look at the architectural details of the building.
