Growing up in Florida as a kid provided me a year round warmth that most would only dream of. I lived near the ocean and while I wasn’t a go in the water type of gal, I did love (and still remember) how beautiful and awe-inspiring those ocean views were. So when you are planning your wedding or party the first place you’ll want to check out are places near the water. There are no shortage of waterfront venues for you to choose from no matter where you live, so you definitely want one that gives that little extra oomph and the venues below do just that. So put on some sunscreen and your best sunglasses because these locations are so hot you’ll have to wear shades!
One Ocean Resort & Spa, Atlantic Beach: After featuring this venue in the Summer 2013 issue of Occasions (click here to read more) I was in awe and had to find out more. With one of the east coast’s best beaches, One Ocean Resort & Spa is the ideal backdrop for brides and grooms to tie the knot. Offering outdoor wedding venues, covered or uncovered cocktail hours and large ballroom receptions with full-service event planning assistance, professional catering and resort amenities, One Ocean Resort has created a picturesque setting for weddings of any size or style.

Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, Marco Island: Growing up in Florida, I would always hear rave reviews when anyone I knew would venture over to the west coast of the state and visited Marco Island. And when I came across a wedding we featured (click here to read more), I fell in love with this locale all over again. White sandy beaches, a sunset ceremony, and a moonlit reception. They have all the right ingredients for a perfect wedding in our tropical and intimate setting including unique honeymoon suites, bridal party spa packages, groomsmen’s golf outings, day-after brunches, and an online gift registry.

Renaisssance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club, St. Petersburg: The city of St. Petersburg, or St. Pete to natives, is typically and quickly referenced with Tampa almost like an afterthought. Let me tell you that this picturesque city is hardly an afterthought. And nothing sets the tone for your wedding or special event more so than its surroundings. So when the most special chapter in your life requires an equally special hotel, the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club provides the perfect storybook setting.

The Breakers Palm Beach, Palm Beach: Growing up just minutes away, The Breakers Palm Beach, was always that place that only the richest and fanciest people go. Today it is still one of America’s premier destinations for magnificent weddings and celebrations. Whether you desire a beachside ceremony for 50 guests, or a reception for 500 in a majestic ballroom, our experienced and passionate team of professionals will personally attend to every detail.

Trump International Beach Resort, Sunny Isles Beach: When you hear Trump you can’t help but have an instant feel of opulence and grandeur and this resort certainly doesn’t disappoint. Set on seven miles of breathtaking white sand with stunning views of the beach and turquoise Atlantic Ocean, Trump Resort presents South Florida’s most idyllic wedding setting. Choose a barefoot beach wedding, a lavish ballroom extravaganza or an intimate ceremony with a few close family and friends.

These are five of my fave waterfront venues in Florida. Are there any you think should make the list?
