There is no cocktail, no bacon wrapped shrimp, no burger and certainly no piece of candy that satisfies me like milk and cookies. A childhood — dare I say, American? — tradition that will never grow old. I saw the cutest “milkaholic” themed baby shower recently, and it got me thinking about the detectible pair, and what a fabulous addition they make to a party…no matter the size! So I rounded up a few of my favorite ways to bring this happy couple to your next event — what do you think?
Like I said, milk & cookies > vodka in my book. Besides, who needs that chic little martini when you have this sprinkle-rimmed milk shooter complete with chocolate chip goodness?! (via limotop.blogspot.com) If it were me, I’d put more than one cookie on my little skewer. You know….share the wealth. The second picture above has a straw with little chocolate pieces in the straw. So you grab an cookie and a bottle, and pretty soon you’ll be enjoying that cookie with chocolate milk? YES! Check out the quote on the bottle, too — truer words were never spoken! A cookie bar or buffet is also a the fastest way to your guest’s heart. I like that this host/hostess tied her design in with the buffet. I’d also be willing to bet that those Oreos were store bought, which is a great lesson: mix store bought cookies with those from a local bakery, or even with your own homemade versions. I love these because they were a two-for-one. Milk AND cookies….get it?? I knew you were a smart crowd. The red lettering is adorable. cute, cute, cute! (via google.com)
If you give a mouse a cookie, said mouse will need some milk…hence the famous pair-up. Take some time to think outside the 2% carton and offer up chocolate milk, vanilla milk or even strawberry milk! Variety is the spice of life…and the life of the party! Love the cookies & milk idea but really want that cake? Have your baker whip up an inspired caked like the one above. Best of both worlds, right? (side note: LOVE the presentation of that “cake station”) (via ritsybee.typepad.com & celebrationsathomeblog.com)
Got milk? …..and cookies?
