Inspired by the iconic children’s book, The Little Red Hen, Jennifer Shields of Posh Tot Events created a harvest party wonderland that will surely banish any lingering summer blues (for child or parent). Using elements pulled straight from the storybook pages like wheat bread and plenty of barnyard animals, Jennifer and company created a whimsical party with a fun twist. “Depicted in this party table setting is the little red hen herself, with her gardening tools and watering can under her wing. Fresh sunflowers, golden with yellow billy balls, bright green deer moss and wheat sheaves are dispersed throughout the tablescape. Brightly colored honey bees, butterflies and birds are busy keeping watch as this story unfolds before your eyes.” – David Clarke
From the designer: “In addition to our Dessert Buffet, we created a bread cart in keeping with the theme. Various types of breads and muffins were displayed on an antique metal cart and served along with jams and honey flavored butter. For party favors we ordered copies of the Little Golden Book version of The Little Red Hen and tied them with bakers twine and a custom tag. Hand painted wooden forks and spoons and glass milk bottles were used to set the table along with gold charger and red and white patterned lunch plates.”
Cake pops are definitely having a moment in 2012. This farm animal variety was by far our favorite detail. We’re also fairly certain that it may have been the tastiest, too.
