Anniversaries are certainly milestones to celebrate and cherish, but when it comes to a golden anniversary, the celebration must be big! In preparation for a 50th anniversary party for my own grandparents, I was inspired to search for modern and golden details that will add that special touch of glam, while also trying to incorporate personal details relating to that half of a century spent together!
Gold flatware is a perfect opportunity for including the golden theme while also having room to utilize other colors for a color palette that will capture the mood of the party. For an opulent, luxurious palette think purples, deep reds or black, whileas for a casual, chic affair think pale neutrals as in the photo above. I also love the mini glass dessert stands with the attached “Love Sparkles” tags. (via: Suzanne Hansen Photography)
This invitation suite from Lizzy B Loves ties the Mexican destination and “Mad Men” theme into the design and for this couple’s vow renewals. Almost more than the combination of a “Mad Men” theme for a couple celebrating a 50th anniversary, I absolutely love the combination of clean, modern typography with the gorgeous gold and black tile design. Gather your favorite family photos—childhood photos, special occasions, etc.—and transform them into party décor! I love this use of a wedding portrait for napkin tags. With photo-editing software & templates, your paper of choice and a pair of scissors, these party napkin tags are an easy task! And don’t stop with one favorite picture—have a variety of tags that will make for great conversation! (via: Martha Stewart)
This golden wedding cake brings about a perfect sense of warmth and luxury for a special occasion without being too garish. However, if a wedding cake is “too wedding” for your anniversary party plans, serving macrons, cake balls, cupcakes or cookies (or even a variety of desserts!) would be a perfectly bite-size (via: Style Me Pretty)
