Throw tradition out the window and opt for a paper themed anniversary party, no matter what year you’re celebrating. That’s what we say at least. This anniversary celebration was inspired by one party extraordinaire’s love of paper and mixing contrasting items together to create an easy-breezy vow renewal. Shot on location at a private residence, this proves you can have a stunning party even in the simplest of locations. Backyards aren’t just for barbecues any more. Images by Harwell Photography!
An anniversary party is the perfect time to show off your family monogram. Wear your initials proud on your stationery, favors and any other branded piece.
Paper is typically used for the first wedding anniversary, but who says you have to follow those rules these days. The main focus point was the paper flower number “15” that represented the couple’s number of years together. Paper flowers were used for the boutonniere and bouquet, while paper confetti and a paper back drop were used for the dessert station. Vows were printed on paper and made into paper flowers as well. About 30 paper garlands were hung from a tree to continue the paper theme.
To keep it simple, opt for black & white with a twist. For the lady of the house, wear a long back dress with a hair fascinator and for the boys, a simple black tux with Converse sneakers will due.
Keeping with the paper theme, instead of traditional flowers, you can find paper flowers hand crafted at many online retailers and they last a lifetime…like your love! The bouquet shown above is from BHLDN.
The anniversary cake, created by Classic Cheesecakes & Cakes, was a stunning, two tier almond cake with buttercream filling adorned with an adorable flower.
