Colorful & Fun Circus Themed 1st Birthday Party
The BIG Show, a circus themed birthday party starring one year old twins, Olivia and William, happened – and it was ‘over-the-{BIG}-top’ fun!
‘Come One, Come All!’ invitations proclaimed that the celebration would start on the roof with Fair Food and Fun from 3-5pm allowing any little ‘nap-needers’ to awake when ready and with time to arrive and enjoy the activities before moving to the 2nd floor for Smash Cakes, Dinner and a Magic Show. In lieu of gifts, guests were asked to consider giving to Rosie’s Birthday Club, a worthy non-profit celebrating children who would not otherwise be celebrated on their birthday.
The rooftop air was thick with vintage circus music and the smell of popcorn. As guests looked through the sea of red and white polka dots and stripes in the conservatory, there was an invisible magnet pulling them to walk under the popcorn balloon arch to the fair fun on the rooftop. Overhead were striped banner flags of red and white waving under the clear blue sky. Our Master of Ceremonies was ‘on repeat’ welcoming guests to The BIG Show and reminding them to stop at the photo booth, where they could be The Strongest Man Alive or The Lion Tamer, to get their face painted, be awed by the juggling and tricks of Zimmy, have Pickles the Clown make a balloon animal and Julie Michelle twirl some fresh cotton candy while they waited…all this and there was still a Magic Show and Dance Party in their future. All stopped at the Grab-n-Go table to load up on clown noses, tattoos, animal crackers, ring pops, etc. and to sign the, ‘If I Ran The Circus’ guest books for each of the twins. It was four hours of pure joy and laughter celebrating Olivia and William.
“We wanted to welcome guests with a WOW moment by greeting all of their senses! Red and white stripes and dots created the ‘instant happy’ and a wink at The Big Top Tent and Circus Clowns. The air was filled with the smell of fresh popcorn and the sound of vintage circus music. It was ‘over the {BIG} top’ FUN!” –Kelly Delamater, Owner of Backyard Soiree Weddings and Events
