Dreamy Valentine’s Day Inspiration Using “Recycled” Wedding Decor

February has arrived, and the holiday of love — Valentine’s Day — will soon be upon us!  The perfect occasion to plan an amorous evening with your sweetheart.  But why spend a fortune to bring your vision to life?  Exactly the question asked by Sam, the founder of the whimsical chocolate company, The Frosted Petticoat. (Yes that’s right . . . the same mastermind behind our Halloween Party Dessert Bar Ideas.)  So she set out to prove that a fantastic Valentine’s Day date can be yours by simply “recycling” your wedding decor to create a playful, romantic atmosphere!  And since Etsy is the go-to place for brides seeking unique wedding decor, Sam and her team worked exclusively with Etsy artisans to create a champagne welcome table, a delightful dessert table, and a dreamy indoor teepee for you and your darling to enjoy.  Learn how, through reusing wedding decorations, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to break the bank to be fabulous with these images by Mia Dee Photography!

CHAMPAGNE WELCOME TABLE
“Our first dreamy scenario welcomes the lovebirds with a little champagne and a lot of nostalgia. We’ve dusted off the wedding flutes, poured some bubbly, and topped them off with strawberry flavored cotton candy. Why not recycle the Manzanita tree you used for your reception escort cards? That’s exactly what we’ve done with this cupid-themed Valentine tree. The gorgeous silver centerpiece by Simply Mad Weddings is adorned with ornaments from Handy Happy Hearts, Bee Bee Knitting, and Old World Primitives. To its sides, we’ve placed meaningful mementos in honor of love. A sweet spoon art photo by Petek Design reminds the Valentines of the meaning of the romantic holiday. Also, a great way to repurpose a bridal brooch bouquet is by placing it in leftover reception vases to create a delicate flower arrangement. Here we’ve taken Noaki Jewelry’s beautiful rose brooch bouquet and placed it in a pink & gold glitter mason jar by Jessica Catherine Designs. All of this sits atop a sparkly sequin tablecloth by Candy Crush Events. Lastly, “love” welcomes you to the night’s festivities with Wise & True’s adorable gold marquee sign. This is a perfect example of reusing your wedding signage in a unique way.”

DESSERT TABLE
“Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a little (or lot of) chocolate! Courtesy of the The Frosted Petticoat, this dreamy scenario brings the lovers into candy heaven. A fantastic example of recycling cake stands from your wedding dessert table, this display entices the Valentines to indulge in some serious sweets. Red velvet cupcakes topped with The Frosted Petticoat’s chocolate filigree hearts sit daintily on a vintage gold cupcake stand by Glam Fete by Bri. The Frosted Petticoat’s raspberry flavored chocolate typewriters and “key to my heart” candies lie at the forefront, waiting to be eaten. Adorably displayed on a ribboned lollipop stand by Papa Santone’s Workshop, is The Frosted Petticoat’s lavender flavored heart pops. Chocolate kisses from The Frosted Petticoat adorn strawberry & orange flavored macarons and sit sweetly atop a lovely cake stand from Rita Marie Weddings. The centerpiece of this table is the stunning tiered cake. Covered in Irish cream flavored chocolate gems by The Frosted Petticoat, this yummy mascarpone cake is sure to impress. Sitting court atop the cake is a stunningly detailed Marie Antoinette chocolate topper by The Frosted Petticoat. As a finishing touch, it’s beautifully displayed on another cake stand by Rita Marie Weddings. Lastly, the table is decorated with wedding heirlooms: felt acorns by House of Moss, a magenta beaded bouquet by Bridal Bouquets by Ky, a gold & pink brooch bouquet by Magnolia Handmade, bird cake toppers by A Sweet Reverie, and a gold sequin tablecloth by Candy Crush Events.”

ROMANCE TENT
“To end the night, the two lovebirds will retire to a romantic evening of indoor camping. Again utilizing heirlooms and décor from your wedding, this is a fresh idea for a Valentines Day fete. The foundation for this whimsical seating area is an ethereal lace ruffle tent by Sugar Shack’s Teepee. Crowning the structure is a rustic felt and tree branch wreath by Madly Wish. Gold glitter XO’s from Letters From A to Z rest on a pile of love poetry at the teepee’s entrance. Gorgeously tempting the lovers on a vintage tiered cake stand by Cake Stand Lady, are some leftover fruit and sweets by The Frosted Petticoat. Lastly, a vibrant gold sequin pillow by Raine Style Home sits inside the tent, adding the final touch of romance to the scene.”

OUTFIT DETAILS
“Any girl knows that one of the best parts of Valentine’s Day is dressing up! We’ve dressed The Frosted Petticoat founder, Sam in a sexy-n-sweet Carrie Bradshaw-esque tutu dress by Mandolin Dreams. Her hands are blinged out with multiple vintage wedding rings from Temsah Jewelers and she’s rocking graffiti-splattered earrings from Akireaus. Extra sweet accessories include a hot pink lace shrug from Boubo and gold feather hairpins by Graceful Hunter. Sam also has an heirloom button bouquet by Bride as a Button to commemorate the night’s festivities.”
