Summer break has drawn to an end, and all the kids have headed back to school for a brand new year of learning. So why not get your children excited for all the fun that awaits them this school year by throwing a “back-to-school” bash for them and their friends! Petite Seats (the brilliant company who helped bring you this adorable taxi cab children’s party) is back with all the inspiration you need to make just such an event a reality. Held at The ART Factory in Paterson, New Jersey, this shoot brought all the magic of a children’s classroom to life. Primary colors pervaded the scene, crayons, glue sticks, books, and toys set up all around the room. The dessert “desk” boasted a sweet spread including apple cake pops, cookies displaying math problems, and “Morning Glory” muffins beautifully decorated with bright textbooks and the ABC’s. Youngsters savored these desserts at a table adorned with a globe, yellow daisies, and an orange chevron table runner, washing the goodies down with cold milk before posing for some photos with their “classmates.” All the fun is only a bus ride away with these images by Oh Experience Photography!
We wanted to capture the essence of summer coming to an end and the mixed feelings of sadness, excitement and anticipation about the upcoming school year every child experiences. We incorporated vibrant primary colors, back to school props such as globes, marbled notebooks, pencils, Crayola crayons, markers, colored pencils, rulers and legos. Our petite chairs were adorned with classic rosettes that tied in with the theme.
We used primary colors such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
This party is perfect for kids before school starts. It’s a fun way to get them back in school mode and to be creative.
ITEMS TO INCORPORATE
A party like this should include familiar back to school items such as pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks among a variety of other props. Your design should be flexible and interactive for your kids. All props should be child-friendly.
WHAT TO WEAR
Our pint size prepsters wore fashionable outfits that incorporated button downs, sassy socks, bold colors, skirts, fashionable glasses, hair bows, suspenders, and cool footwear.
TAKE IT UP A NOTCH
You can take this theme up a notch by including personalized chalk boards that mark each child’s name and age.
