Every once in a while you stumble across something that quite literally takes your breath away, something so brimming with heart, with sweetness, that you can’t help but share it. Such is the case with the fourth birthday celebration Karen Ayars put together for her daughter, Lauren. The Cinderella theme was planned with a sweetly fresh twist, the focus of the fun centered on activities Cinderella experienced “B4 the Ball.” Lauren’s little guests arrived at the party to find “rags” they were to wear and a chalkboard relating “chores” that needed to be done before the girls could attend the ball. What followed was a carefully constructed wonderland where the little ladies got to sew the stepsisters’ dresses with real big girl sewing machines (with help from adults, of course!), make breakfast for the wicked stepsisters at a cake decorating station, and even do “laundry” from a hamper of hidden cookies! Sprinkled across the setting were measuring tapes made of gum, spools of thread made of push-pops, and even “dirty” spoons and bowls spattered with chocolate. Finally it was time to visit the Bippity Boppity Boutique where the girls changed into gorgeous little gowns and prepared for the ball. The party went on, reaching the absolute pinnacle of sweetness when Lauren’s father appeared dressed as Prince Charming and danced with the girls in true princely style!
