Earlier this week I attended Engage!10, a luxury wedding business summit at The Breakers in Palm Beach. The conference was hosted by Rebeccca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce of Engaging Concepts and is designed to bring together the BEST of the best in the wedding industry to collaborate and connect on all things, well weddings. The luxury ones that is. The very people who set the trends you read about in magazines made up the guest list and I had the opportunity to meet some amazing pillars of the event industry like Silvia Weinstock, Mindy Weiss, Randy Fenoli, Carley Roney, Darcy Miller, Marcy Blum, Bryan Rafanelli (who orchestrated Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, I might add) and so many more. Ever since the event I’ve been floating on cloud nine and from the pictures below by Mel Barlow Photography and Allan Zepeda you can obviously tell why.
Speaking of cloud 9…normally these real event recaps only include pictures, but I’ve got something a little more spectacular for you. Cloud 9 Creative is a wedding videography group out of Canada and I have absolutely fallen in love with their work. Bruce Patterson, wedding videographer extraordinaire, was on site at Engage!10 and he taped what seemed like every single second. So, before you scroll down to see the amazing images, take 4 short minutes to experience the epitome of luxury events for yourself.
The pictures above are from the cocktail party on the first night. It was set on the ocean side lawn where white leather lounge furniture covered in custom linens and pillows were spread out for guests to relax and mingle.
Engage!10 is all about the branding. Every single detail is planned to match and coordinate with one another just as you would expect to see at any luxury wedding. For this conference, a color palette of hot pink and lime green (so very Lilly Pulitzer and perfect for Palm Beach) was used in nearly every element. A custom pattern was also designed and incorporated in the conference literature, posters, signage, linens, you name it.
Day two included a full agenda of lectures broken up by a morning “oatmeal and yogurt” break, lunch in the Circle Dining Room where Silvia Weinstock entertained us with her cake decorating antics, and an afternoon “citrus” break to wake us up! The conference was set up in classroom style seating that incorporated custom linens, letterpress name cards at each setting, a stage with white patten leather seats for speakers with a mirrored coffee table.
One of my most favorite moments was the lunch in the Circle Dining Room. The venue itself is open, airy and exudes the feeling of having lunch in a sun room overlooking the ocean. The decor was light and summer-like and so was the food. It was the perfect menu for a conference because it the food wasn’t too heavy. I especially loved the custom boxed lunches that kept consistent with the hot pink color and ultra modern pattern displaying the phrase “yummy” on top. Trust me, the food was yummy for sure! All the while Sylvia showed us her tricks of the trade she also joked about where her martini was so, just at the end Randy Fenoli, the gentlemen he is, served the industry icon that vodka martini she’d been asking for all along. It was such a cute moment.
The grand finale of this event was the gala on Tuesday night. After two long days of business reflection and continuing education Rebecca and Kathryn put the icing on the cake with the most over the top soiree I’ve ever attended. The ballroom was sectioned off with soft white drapery and filled with tables of all sizes. In the center hung a chandelier made of champagne glasses and crystals dangling with white ribbon. Servers on stilts would clip a champagne glass from the structure and fill with the finest bubbly as guests arrived. The tables were covered in a gorgeous rose textured fuchsia linen and letterpress menus and escort cards completed the look.
There are thousands of images from Engage!10 and I wish I could share every single one of them with you! What an absolutely insightful event into the world of luxury weddings. If you want to hear more buzz about the event follow the #engage10 hash tag on twitter.
