What trends are you loving right now?
I have been seeing a lot of Pre Ceremony Bubbles and Hors d’Oeuvres. The guests love getting to mingle before being seated for the ceremony. I also love the rise of the late night snack- these are must haves lately and they vary based on the couples favorite snacks. Whether sweet or savory you can’t go wrong!
Best advice you can share with someone planning an upcoming occasion?
Be upfront about what you want. If you don’t tell us, we have no way of giving you every option this industry has to offer! Stay true to the things that are most important to you, and the rest will fall into place.
Describe a typical consultation with a bride.
We start off with the logistics, and move into the fun stuff! I always ask for her ideas and vision first, and then we get into the details. The menu really sets the tone of the party, so it’s important to establish whether the couple wants a seated dinner, stations or even brunch. Then we talk about favorite foods, and come up with a well-rounded menu to reflect that.
What is something that surprises clients about you/your field?
You can find just about anything your client might want for their event, we have thought of it all! A client wanted me to rent a reindeer once, it’s a thing.
What information should they have before meeting with you (i.e. head count, budget, theme, colors, etc.)? Why?
Venue, Head count and an idea of where they need to be budget wise are the most important. We custom design all of our menus, so if they can at least guide me in the right direction we can help with the rest! We do try to coordinate with theme and colors too, so any information the couple has is helpful.
Any advice you would like to give to potential clients?
Have fun with the process! Give yourself time to plan. It does not have to be so stressful, you are planning a party after all.
