The weather is getting warmer and Summer is near and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than hosting a movie night in the backyard for all your friends! All you need is a projector and something to make a screen out of and you are on your way to hosting a perfect warm weather celebration. Whether you want to host it for your children and their friends or make it an “adults only” night out of it, there are a variety of options that will make you want to make Outdoor Movie Night a summer tradition.
Of course if you are having a movie night, you gotta have tickets! These invitations are perfect for your movie night. Available on Etsy, these are printable ticket invitations that can be customized for whatever movie you are showing and to your “movie theater.” For a kids movie night, have them bring the invitations and take their ticket as they walk in to give the real movie theater experience. This is an idea for the kiddos that is so cute! Be on the lookout for big boxes and create cars out of them to create a drive in movie feel. The steering wheel and tires are made from black plates and then make some personalized license plates with each child’s name with some cardstock. The kids will have fun with the play cars and they could even take them home as a party favor because let’s be honest, kids love playing with cardboard boxes. (via Design Dazzle)
Don’t really want to spend a ton of money on one of those blow-up movie screens? Here is a simple solution, drop cloth. A drop cloth is super cheap at your local hardware store so all you have to do is hang it up. Also if you have a large sheet that would work just as well but the drop cloth is really sturdy and will give the same effect as a sturdy projection screen. (via Prairie Hive )
This popcorn stand is a little bit “adults only” but you can tweak it for the little ones too. Set up an old pallet and lay out popcorn and all different types of seasonings to go with the popcorn and have guests put it in brown paper bags to take back to their seats. Set up a drink station with all different types of beers and wines for your adult movie night or set up vintage soft drinks and juices for the kids. How cute does the popcorn look placed in the different shaped glass jars? It gives a fun vintage feel to your outdoor movie night. (via Bash, Please)
What do you say, are you ready to head to the movies now?
