French inspiration is endless, especially for francophiles like me, and I’m sure lots of you, as well! I swoon at just the thought of French culture, fashion, architecture, and of course, desserts. France is the perfect source of inspiration for all kinds of events, but I love French-inspired bridal showers and bachelorette parties in particular–girly, classy, and fun, with just the right amount of je ne sais quoi. Here are a few of my favorite pretty treats.
Croquembouche is a pretty traditional wedding dessert in France (typically used as a wedding cake), but they are not seen too often in America. They’re made of vanilla cream profiteroles dipped in caramel, and then stacked, oh so prettily. What a delicious and unexpected statement croquembouche would make at an American wedding! Madeleines are one of my favorite kinds of cookies. They’re light, buttery, and fluffy, not to mention, the prettiest seashell shape. They look beautiful on cakes, as seen above, but you can also serve them at a dessert buffet or on a cookie platter. Pictures via Tania Lezak Photography and Ashley Rose Photography.
What’s not to love about eclairs? The puffy pastry, creamy filling, and chocolate coating bring together some of the best features of French desserts. Make them bite-sized if you’re serving them alongside other fun desserts, or full-sized if they’re playing the starring role. Picture via The Pixel Studio.
Macarons have taken the wedding world by storm over the last year, and for good reason. They’re delicious, adorable, and completely customizable to your favorite colors and flavors. Why not kick your dessert table up a notch with a stunning macaron tower? All you need is a styrofoam base (in whatever shape you want), toothpicks, and your favorite macarons.
