“Baby, it’s cold outside!” The winter months can certainly bring quite a chill; however, for brides, weddings in the cooler months can be warm in a wonderful way. Case in point: if you’re the kind of gal who likes to bundle up in layers and snuggle up to your partner while visiting a ski lodge in Colorado or journeying through the woods via a horse drawn carriage, a cozy winter wedding is ideal for you! Create the scene by using lots of outdoors’ natural colors –silver, sage, navy, and brown — while incorporating touches of a snowy forest such as pine cones, pine needles, berries, and bark. Finish it all off with some old-fashioned lanterns, furs, and burlap, and you’ve got a classic winter wonderland! WHAT TO WEAR
A winter wedding calls for stylish layers. Bring in a velvet bolero, faux fur shawl and dress your beau in a dapper wool coat, warm vest, wrapped in a stylish plaid scarf and bow tie.
Go with something frosty and elegant. White peonies, anemones and lisianthus with the chill of blue thistle and viburnum berries.
Warm your guests from the inside out. Serve a steamy spiked cider or hot cocoa and kahlua mixture.
TAKE IT UP A NOTCH
Just because the weather report isn’t siding in your favor, doesn’t mean you can’t have snow at your snowy soiree. Bring in a snow machine to really WOW guests and thrill the kids.
