What’s the perfect bridal shower theme for a woman who embodies savvy smarts, elegance, creativity and style? When it comes to Amy Smith, the author of “The Graduates’s Guide to Networking” that would be a white and pink Chanel themed event fit for the girl whose rarely seen without her favorite strand of pearls! The event magic was definitely in the details with this shower lovingly pieced together by Amy’s mother, MIL and bridesmaids. It was a flurry of games, gourmet treats and prizes perfectly suited for the Hilton Garden Inn tea room. Each of Amy’s most favorite things, and best of all, her personality, were perfectly reflected in fashionable detail. Just see for yourself with these photos from Heyn Photography!
Was there a specific theme or style?
My bridal shower was Coco Chanel inspired. My favorite color is pink, and I am rarely seen without my set pearls that I wear nearly everyday. My bridesmaids said that the theme “classy and fabulous” was a no brainer when planning my bridal shower!
What were your playful twists that made the event unique?
I loved how all of the décor and games were Coco Chanel inspired. The table numbers looked like small perfume bottles, the place cards were pinned to a black and pink-stripped mannequin bust form, and the games all had to do with fashion and accessories. There was no part of the afternoon that did not include some sort of Chanel reference.
Did you DIY any of the event details?
The event planner created a beautiful custom photo booth backdrop that made the pictures look as if you were seeing your reflection in a mirror. The girls were able to dress up in floppy hats, long gloves, and costume jewelry and take their pictures home as favors. It was an incredibly unique detail that all of the guests really enjoyed.
Tell us about the food and desserts.
There had been an unfortunate series of bakery cake mishaps in my life, and it was very important to my mother that the cake was perfect! My mother-in-law and sister-in-laws designed the cake to match the invitations. The result was stunning! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it also tasted delicious.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment for me were the toasts that my mother and mother-in-law gave. They both shared such touching memories, wishes and hopes for my husband and me. There was not a dry eye in the house!
