“Will you be my maid-of-honor?”
I wanted to find a special way to ask this question…along with asking the bridesmaids, best man, and groomsmen. Enter into the picture my one true DIY project for the wedding.
Each potential bridal party member was sent a picture frame, note asking them to be in our wedding, and a “wedding predictions” game card (see below for explanation). The 5×7 picture frame was engraved with our names and the wedding year. Inside the frame, I made a picture of a bridal party using construction paper, markers, glue, & scissors (bride & groom in the middle, bridesmaids & groomsmen on either side). Having no artistic ability, I drew stick figures (they actually turned out cute), and cut out pictures of my fiance and my head and glued them on top of the bride & groom stick figure bodies. Above the stick figure bridal party, I wrote “Your face here” with an arrow to one of the bridal party members.
Now for my favorite part: Along with the picture frames & note, we included a “Wedding Predictions” game. We asked our close family members and future bridal party to answer 10 multiple choice questions about our future wedding.
In which city will our wedding take place?
A. St. Louis
D. Las Vegas
(FYI – all of these were viable options at the time)
What will be our wedding colors?
A. Black & White
B. Purple & Green
C. Blue & Green
D. Purple & Platinum
Other questions included the bride’s dress style, how many of the bridesmaids will be pregnant at the wedding, how many guests will attend the wedding etc. The tie-breaker: Guess the wedding date (obviously, this was before we had set the date)! It was so much fun to read everyone’s answers. At our rehearsal dinner, we will review the questions & answers. The person with the most correct answers will get a gift!
What creative way did you ask your bridesmaids & groomsmen to join the party?
