Now that your dress is picked out, it’s time to start planning your wedding beauty! Every bride needs the perfect glam squad for glowing skin and silky hair. From taming those eyebrows to moisturizing your skin, looking polished is only a few steps away. We gathered tips from the experts to assure you look flawless walking down the aisle, see below!
When is the best time to wax my brows?
“10 days before your wedding. This may seem like a long time, but getting them waxed at least 10 days before your wedding will ensure that the peach fuzz will have time to re-grow. This is essential for a makeup application. I have done countless weddings where the eyebrows are freshly waxed, and the skin is so smooth that foundation will not adhere to the area. This will also ensure there is no residual redness. If there are strays, we can always quickly pluck them that morning,” says Corie Messer of Vigilante Cosmetics, LLC.
Do you want to see photos of hair and makeup that I like?
“Sure! While it’s not completely necessary, it can help me understand your vision. However, you should always remember that what you like on someone else in an image, you may not like for yourself. I always suggest that you stay within the parameters of your comfort zone for your big day. Don’t take too many risks with your makeup, or you may not feel like yourself and regret it down the road,” says Corie Messer of Vigilante Cosmetics, LLC.
Should my hair be wet or dry before getting it styled?
“When we are doing a bridal party, we are doing 8-10 girls back to back. Most stylists do not have time to dry your hair. I recommend shampooing your hair the night before the wedding and rough drying it with your hands and a blow dryer to get as much texture in it as possible. For those that have coarse, thick hair I suggest having it a day or two dirty which helps with the styling process.” – Crystal and Jen of Cucumber & Mint
How do I make sure my hair won’t frizz in humidity?
Moroccan oil helps as well as other hair products specifically for frizz. If your hair normally gets frizzy I would suggest wearing your hair in an updo rather than leaving it down.” – Crystal and Jen of Cucumber & Mint
Do I need to moisturize my skin before?
“If so, what are your favorite moisturizers? Absolutely! You should be moisturizing your skin everyday. For everyday use, your moisturizer should include an SPF of 30 or higher and evening moisturizer should be a repair cream. For the day of the event, you do not want to wear a moisturizer with SPF in case you will be photographed with flash photography. (which will turn your face white in photos!) We recommend Image Skin Care and Embryolisse.” – Crystal and Jen of Cucumber & Mint
Real lashes or false lashes?
“False Lashes…always! My favorites style are the Demi Wispies.” – Scoobie of Scoobie West & Company
What products must are “must have” in purse to keep my look fresh throughout the day/night?
“Your lipstick/gloss for the day and translucent pressed powder.” – Scoobie of Scoobie West & Company
