Nanette, Mark’s daughter, wanted to do something extra special for his sixtieth birthday. So she brought him down from the north and threw him a party, South Florida style. The venue, the Asian Garden at the Naples Botanical Garden, was the perfect location for this tropical soiree. Utilizing the beauty of the gardens, the party was decorated in a neutral color palette with pops of tropical orange in the invitations, table accents and even the signature cocktail. The whole evening was a total and welcome surprise to the guest of honor. Images by Luminaire Foto!
The guest of honor’s daughter chose the Asian Garden at the Naples Botanical Garden for its perfectly-sized pavilion surrounded by water and wandering paths for an evening full of great food with friends and family.
POPS OF ORANGE
Rather than going all out with a theme, Nanette focused on the lovely setting of the Asian Garden by sticking to a neutral and natural color palette. They brought in pops of tropical orange through the invitation, accents on the tables, and the rum based signature cocktail, the Sweet Surrender.
Chef Greg of Tastebuds Custom Catering planned a menu based on some of the guest of honor’s favorite foods, and he also worked a few Asian flavors into the dishes as a nod to the venue setting.
Brett, of The Brett Foreman Band, gave the whole evening a rounded out mood for the party and provided a laid back vibe, playing a steel drum followed by acoustic guitar.
